It’s not uncommon to request for a dark interior these days. At least, not odd enough for homeowners of this Bidadari Park Drive 4 room BTO. The seemingly unfeeling choice of black laminated furniture in the home is not at all unwelcome. Rather, the juxtaposition of dark colours against the crisp white walls is akin to a pensive watchman awaiting dawn. Hopeful and inspiring.
Interior designer Darren Tan pulls the dark interior look together with a clever use of carpentry. Clean straight lines from the cabinet doors run perpendicular to the ledge. This lends a modern, edgy vibes. Furthermore, integrating natural elements like birch wood and white veined black marble give the home its characteristically cool look.
Fluted paneling in birch wood for half of the TV feature wall elongates the vertical space. This gives the illusion of height and airiness. Similarly, the full height vanity table lit by LED strips lends to the “up in the air” aura. In the small toilet, the practical design snugly fits the sink counter into the corner of the room.
The Bidadari Park Drive 4 room BTO renovation works were completed with a budget of $50K.
