A few notches shy from a unfeeling grey, the newly renovated La Fiesta condominium unit is a sophisticated, modern grey interior.
Interior designer Joe Yap explores modern features in its full capacity to develop a brazen look. First, the contrast in colours within the monochromatic colour scheme add drama to what would have been a rather placid greyish home. Next, Joe exploits sharp lines from the home’s physical structure to create a grid-like look.
Overall, the careful selection of colour, material and carpentry design ensure that there’s never a ‘dull’ moment for the modern grey interior.

While the renovated condo might lack fun trimmings and ornamentation, it makes up for it with clever solutions which are sure to impress. This hidden door opens into a nifty closet along the entry way. No obstructions, only organisation.

The cove lighting design which demaractes the living room from the entry way and kitchen form a perpendicular line to the custom TV feature wall. The latter runs parallel to the adjacent long rectangular ktichen window.

Since modern grey themed homes can come across as cold and uninviting, lighting design is key. For example, the custom made full height wardrobes in the bedrooms. Despite the black tinted glass doors and frame, the warm light shines through the opaque doors. Not only does this illuminate the contents of the wardrobe, it brings on much needed visual drama to counter any unfeeling minimalism in the space.
